What is a Carotid Artery Doppler Ultrasound Exam? A carotid artery Doppler ultrasound is a diagnostic test used to check the circulation in the large arteries in the neck. This exam shows any blockage in the veins by a blood clot or “thrombus” formation. If you get a normal result, your carotid arteries aren't narrowed or blocked. If your results aren't normal, you may have atherosclerosis, a blood clot or some other problem that makes your artery too narrow and puts you at risk for a stroke. Carotid Artery Blockage Symptoms :- Blurred vision or vision loss, Confusion, Memory loss, Numbness or weakness in part of your body or one side of your body. If you have any of above complaints, plz consult with your doctor and get tested for carotid Doppler. All high risk patients like CKD, liver disease, diabetes, thyroid patients, hypertension or BP patients should undergo carotid Doppler testing.
